Laptop Repairs - good honest advice is such a rare commodity, but why?

Small High Street Shops: These days almost all Computer shops and even some phone shops have slung a ‘Laptop Repairs’ sign in the window. It takes a lot more than a sign in the window to become a top rate laptop repair centre. PC engineers are used to merely changing boards in desktops and towers. This problem normally occurs when the contacts between the memory slot and the motherboard degrade to a point where the memory controller cannot reliably read from or write to memory. Some laptops report that the amount of memory in the system has changed. Others blissfully continue using the bad slot and eventually crash.
